At the Lausitzring, Emil Frey Ferrari driver Jack Aitken secured his first DTM victory of the 2025 season after a fierce battle with Schubert BMW racer Rene Rast.
Despite Rast trying to undercut Aitken in the pits, the latter fought back with determination and regained the lead with a bold move.
Jules Gounon of Winward Mercedes challenged Rast for second place on the final lap but fell short, settling for third.
Rast expressed happiness despite losing the victory two laps before the end and praised the competitiveness of BMW in the race.
Mirko Bortolotti had his best result of the season, finishing sixth in the Abt Lamborghini, while chaos at the start allowed him and Fabio Scherer to gain positions.
Aitken and Rast were the main contenders throughout the race, with Aitken eventually making a decisive move to claim the victory on the penultimate lap.
